In the following matters, Board of Revenue is the highest court -
1. Cases relating Declaration of Surplus Land where revisional power are conferred.
2. Cases relating to Exemption from M.V.Taxation Act.
3. Service or Revision of Appeal – Joint Cadre of Assistants in the Secretariat, Excise subordinate staff and selected category of mufassil staff.
4. Certificate appeal cases against order of collector under PDR Act.
5. Registration – Appeal against order of I.G. Registration.
6. Cases under Bihar State Pollution Control Act.
Administrative Matters
1. Departmental proceeding referred to by the government.
2. Promotion cases of the officers of the Department of: Cabinet Secretariat and Coordination Department including Vigilance, Election and C.M. Secretariat - Home , Personnel and Administrative reforms , Rajbhasha , Parliamentary Affairs , Finance, Mines and Geology , Transport and Civil Aviation , Public Relation , Revenue and Land Reforms , Excise , Relief , Law, Excise , Bihar Administrative Service & Bihar Police Service.
3. Bettiah Raj - The management of Bettiah Raj is with the Board of Revenue under the Court of Wards Act.
4. Looking after the Library of Board of Revenue - Contains extremely old manuals and order and decisions of the Government.
5. STA - Sanction of Road permit, State Transport Authority.
6. Allotment of House for Non Gazetted Employee.
